The Rugged Maniac 5K Obstacle race is being held on March 9th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first wave of runners will start the grueling mud and obstacle course at 9 a.m. with waves of runners starting every fifteen minutes thereafter. Obstacles on this year’s race include balancing beams, over under hurdles, 4-12 feet barricades, cargo climbs, suicide slide and many more. Runners are time individually and prizes will be award to winners. If you don’t want to participate in the event, there are spectator tickets that allow you access to the festival area. There will be an after-party on the festival grounds which will feature live music, beer and food vendors and a mechanical bull ride. This event is being held in Mt. Pleasant about a ten minute drive from the Shem Creek Inn.
